Success comes in many forms. The path to success is different for everyone, even when we are working to achieve the same goal. What works for one person may not work for another, but here are three thoughts that will certainly block anyone’s path to success:
We can have success all by ourselves.
Every step towards success we take requires interaction with people. Would you like a new job? Be sure to have references ready. Even if references are not required, all interview processes include at least one other person. Want to sell a product? You need paying customers. People need people, plain and simple.
If we do everything right, life will go smoothly.
Guess what? No human being will live life perfectly. However, those who choose to learn from mistakes and modify their actions along the way will find success. Even when we make the right choices, there are external factors that effect our lives every day. It is easy to stress about the unknown, but, rather than attempting to avoid things you can’t control, be prepared to face them.
Older people give outdated advice.
There are clear differences among generations, however, we can learn from each other. Engage when someone gives advice based on life experiences while knowing the difference between wisdom and biased opinions.
